The Burren Community Charter
Have your say on the future for farming in the Burren
13th July 2017
What’s the future for farming in the Burren? – have your say!
The story of farming and the Burren spans almost 6,000 years and has contributed to an extraordinary legacy of ancient monuments, orchid-rich grasslands, superb food and a stunning landscape. But what’s the next chapter in the story and how would we like it to unfold?
Burrenbeo Trust, in partnership with IT Sligo, are hosting a seminar on the evening of July 13th next in Kilfenora to discuss and agree on a vision for ‘High Nature Value’ (HNV) farming in the Burren, to identify the main barriers to realizing this vision and to outline some possible solutions and opportunities.
Please register for the event by emailing aine@burrenbeo.com or if you have an opinion or idea to share on this topic simply send a submission to aine@burrenbeo.com: what’s your vision for Burren farming in, say, 20 years time? Light refreshments will be provided on the evening.
This event is being organised in conjunction with local partners including Burren IFA and other participants in the Burren Charter (www.burrencommunitycharter.com), and is an action funded under the HNV LINK Project (www.hnvlink.eu) funded under the EU Horizon 2020 Programme.
